Hey, I'm Amin and I am a Software Developer and a Data/AI Engineer by profession. Ultimately I like to create things, whether it be in the creative arts, such as photography, or building tools, like through programming.

I've been teaching myself programming and data science for years, but it wasn't easy. I nearly gave up many times. I found it hard to know where to start, or where to go next once I've learnt a new concept, or what to build to test myself and my understanding. I really struggled with the technical definitions and explanations in typical programming courses and videos. I just wished there was someone who would simplify concepts or talk about concepts with real life examples.

So this is what this blog is about. I will be posting updates at least twice a month on what I am building in my free time, any problems I had and how I solved them. It's a way of me consolidating my learning and at the same time I hope I can help at least one person learn something they were struggling with before.

I'm working on quite a few projects simultaneously:

• I am building a finance dashboard that connects to my bank, pulls data, cleans it, writes it to a database and then displays the information on a dashboard.

• I have a local home server setup, hosting my own photo storage service through immich, blocking ads with pihole, and constantly putting out fires in Linux.

• I also want to build my own football analytics tool to predict performance of football teams in the premier league, and more.
